The 80/20 principle

The 80/20 Principle can and should be used by every intelligent person in their daily life, by every organization, and by every social grouping and  form of society. It can help individuals and groups achieve much more, with  much less effort. The 80/20 Principle can raise personal effectiveness and  happiness. It can multiply the profitability of corporations and the effectiveness of any organization.

The 80/20 Principle asserts that a minority of causes, inputs or effort usually lead to a majority of the results, outputs or rewards. Taken literally, this  means that, for example, 80 per cent of what you achieve in your job comes from 20 per cent of the time spent.

Therefore, this principle states that: 80 percent of the result comes from the 20 percent of effort. This principle is also known as 'PARETO PRINCIPLE'.

This principle is applicable in any area of your life and in any of your profession either you are a doctor, salesman, businessman, lawyer, student, housewife, electrician etc. Just you have to do is to analyze 20 percent of the work that can produce 80 percent of the result, and focus on that 20 percent. It is the principle that makes your daily life easier, it decreases your input and increases output.
For example: suppose you are a salesman working six hours a day, than you just have to do is to focus on satisfying those 20 percent of your customers that are producing your 80 percent of your sales which might take just two hours. You don't have to focus on whole.

And remember that, their is 20 percent of the effort that will produce 80 percent of the result, it is already there, you just have to find what is that, its not that it is not available, it is available in any sector. It is for everyone and for any profession, it doesn't matter weather you are a security guard or seventy year old man.

# HOW TO FIND YOUR 20 PERCENT OF THE EFFORT?

Now the question is, how to find your 20 percent of the effort that produces 80 percent of the result. Actually its not similar for everyone, it varies from person to person and from profession to profession. You have to find it by yourself. If I give the answer, then it might be helpful in one or two person/profession but not for everyone's profession. You have to analyze it by yourself, what is that 20 percent of the work that produce your 80 percent of the result?

# HOW I HAVE FIND MY 20 PERCENT OF THE EFFORT?

Whenever I need to find my 20% of the effort that will lead to 80% of the result, I choose the morning time just after I wake up in the morning because it is the time when my mind is relaxed and I can fully concentrate on something and can think
deeply. For example: If I had to teach lessons to my 60 clients today (8 hour schedule) then I describe that clients and lessons together  In a piece of paper (which brings me clarity) and I analyze them both very carefully, it doesn't matter how much time it takes. And then I get my answer that where to focus on, I find that just I have to focus on some basic aspects (20%) and rest of the lesson they will be taught by themselves (80%). It takes just 3 and half hour to complete.
